Renovation of the Budu Basic School
Budu, a few kilometres from our factory, has only one basic school, an uncompleted building that has largely been left for the local community of subsistence farmers to complete on their own. We want to help create an environment where children from this underserved community are allowed to learn, grow, and thrive without being left behind.
The first step is completing the school.
The challenge
Unfinished school block & missing learning materials
Budu Basic School lacks even the most basic learning materials and safe classroom conditions. Teachers are overextended, working to provide foundational education while striving to keep children in school.

Completion of School Block
The school is in urgent need of renovation. With no doors or windows, lessons are disrupted even by light rain, forcing children out of class and cutting their learning short. At night, the building is left exposed and shared with animals, creating unsafe and unhygienic conditions for pupils each morning.
Provision of School Materials
Basic learning materials such as textbooks, exercise books, and computers are almost absent. Children in this deprived community are forced to learn with little to no resources, putting them years behind their peers and limiting their opportunities for a better future.
Provision of Safe Drinking Water
Students share a stream with animals such as goats and cattle. In the dry periods, they walk long distance to access the well which is not fully functional.
