Your Role
Job Purpose
To secure a consistent supply of high-quality cocoa beans in line with fairafric’s production requirements
and sustainability standards. The role oversees supplier relationships, farmer engagement, regulatory
coordination, pricing strategies and compliance with ethical and traceable sourcing practices.
Your Responsibilities
Source quality cocoa that meets fairafric's ethical standards
- Develop and implement cocoa sourcing strategies aligned with production needs while
monitoring market trends, crop forecasts and pricing to guide procurement decisions. - Identify, onboard and manage relationships with farmers, cooperatives and aggregators to
ensure reliable and sustainable supply. - Ensure all sourced cocoa meets quality, certification, traceability and ethical sourcing standards
in collaboration with the quality team. - Negotiate supplier contracts, manage sourcing budgets and optimize procurement costs,
logistics, and transportation processes. - Support and implement sustainable sourcing initiatives, ensuring full traceability and
contributing to environmental and social impact projects. - Engage with cocoa-growing communities, stakeholders and industry players to strengthen
partnerships, promote farmer welfare and support community development. - Liaise with regulatory bodies, including Ghana Cocoa Board and Licensed Buying Companies,
ensuring compliance with national policies and industry requirements. - Maintain accurate sourcing data and documentation and prepare reports on volumes, quality,
costs and supplier performance to support decision-making.

What Qualifications you bring
Stong experience in cocoa sourcing and agribusiness
Educational Background
Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field
Work Experience
Minimum years of experience: 7 years
Career Excellence
Progressive experience in cocoa sourcing, agribusiness procurement or commodity trading with strong exposure to farmer engagement and supply chain operations.
Skills
Technical Competency
Knowledge of the Cocoa Sector
Strong understanding of Ghana’s cocoa value chain and regulatory environment, and a strong knowledge of cocoa sector regulations and industry structures.
Experience Across the Value Chain
Experience working with farmer cooperatives, Licensed Buying Companies and regulators.
Sustainable Sourcing
Knowledge of sustainable sourcing and certification standards.
Negotiation Skills
A strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Data Analysis
Data analysis and reporting skills for sourcing performance.
Planning
Supply chain planning and logistics coordination.
